JERRY WILLIAMS FAMILY TREE
According to oral history four Williams male siblings, and one female sibling was born to(unknown first name)Williams all with different mothers. Jerry Williams Sr. born about l849 lived on Dr. Levin Luckett’s plantation according to the 1870 US census. Jerry married Hurlie on May 23, 1867 who was born about l84l. The couple had 3 children Fredrick Williams and Jerry and Edward (twins) Williams before Hurlie passed prior to l880. The names were repeated throughout history, as well as sets of twins,so please look closely at the dates. The children, their offspring and status are listed below:

2. Edward Williams one of the twins born in 1869 died in infancy
3. Jerry Williams the second twin born about 1869 had two sets of children and was married to:
A. Minnie Hayes on April 27, 1886 in Rapides Parish and they had a daughter Carrie F. Williams who was born about 1907, died in January 1982 and was married to Walter Lockhart Jr. of Dallas Texas.
B. Milly Dorty who was born about 1856 later had seven children believed to be fathered by Jerry Williams totaling ten children f Milly was the daughter of Richard and Betsy Dorty and lived next door to Jerry Williams and the 1880 Census showed Millie and four of her seven children used the surname Dougherty (Dorty). Milly and Jerry’s children were:
1. Henry (Dougherty) Williams born about 1873 status unknown
2. Milly Jr.(Dougherty) Williams born about 1875
3. Annie (Dougherty) Williams born about 1878
4. Silas Williams born April 1886 unknown status
5. Terrie Williams born December 1888 unknown status
6. Willie Williams born July 1893 status unknown
7. Louis Dougherty (our grandfather) was born about 1881, reared by his uncle Douglas Dougherty and kept the Doughtery surname. Louis married Lillie C. Young (our grandmother) in February 1906 and had twelve living children. Click their names below for more information:
I Henry Dorty born August 9, 1906 died July 1974
II Edward Dorty born February 18, 1908 died March 9, 1989 married Queen Ester (surname unknown) and had nine children.
III Virginia Dorty aka Louise Adams) born February 12, 1912, died November 3, 1983 married Alonzo Adams and had one child prior; John Henry Dorty.
IV Louis Dorty Jr.(Snook) born May 16, 1913 died October 1979 married Jerether( surname unknown) and had two children Louis Dorty Junior and Jero Dorty.
V Albert Dorty born November 20, 1918 died November 1997 married Mary Lee on april 13, 1946. No children were born to that union, but in later years Albert confided he had one son living in Northern California.
VI Joseph Dorty born born July 4, 1924 died March 28, 1964 (aka Johnny Jones) has one child Lawana Dorty by Katherine Rivers.
VII Murray Dorty born April 5, 1930 died April 21, 1961 married Willie Mae Dixon and had two children: Dwight David Dorty and Murry Anthony Dorty. Murray Sr. born 1930 also married Hollis Hall and had two children; Donna Marie Dorty who had one son Isaac Thomas. Isaac had one child; Saala Marie. Hollis Hall had 2 children from a previous marriage Tyrone Powell and Connie Hall.
VIII David Dwight Dorty born June 19, 1919 and married Rosalie Watson (Mc Clinton) on September 23, 1955. Rosalie was the daughter of Olivia Reed and Joe Watson. David also married Margie Bowie and one child withher Linda Dorty. David had had eight other children with Ella Hammond: Lillie Ellen Hammond, Kacion Dorty, Sakoria Dorty, Desiree Dorty, Shontavis Dorty, Jordan dorty, Da Cauri Dorty, and Pamela Dorty.
X Aaron Dorty born April 2, 1920 and died January 9, 1997
XI Roosevelt Dorty (PeeWee) born December 25, 1930 died March 1984 married Doretha Allen and had eight children; Willie Lee Dorty had one child Vera Dorty, Roy Lee Dorty had no children,Edward Dorty had three children Claudett, Edward Jr and Manuel, Roosevelt Dorty Jr. had five children; Anthony, Roosevelt, Terrell, Whitney and Devin, Barbara Dorty had one child Keilon, Vernon Dorty had one child Vernon Junior,Linda Dorty had two children Lakisha and Vance, and Tyrone Dorty had one child Tyrone Junior.
XII Ruthie Mae Dorty (our mother) born august 3, 1929 married Louis Brown on August 1, 1941 who was born about 1917 in
