Louis Brown aka Louis (Polliman) Brown was born in Alexandria on February 2, 1918, his parents were Charlotte Gibson who was from a small town outside Marksville, and Reverend James Brown from Pineville Louisiana.
Louis was one of eight children with three brothers, Truddo, Freddie, and James Junior, his sisters were Laura, Beatrice, Olivia, and Doll.
At an early age Louis was said to be an outside person and would often be seen camping out in the backyard. He left Louisiana at age sixteen and ended up in Mexico where he lived seven years and learned Spanish. After leaving Mexico, he went to California where he was inducted in the army, and returned to Louisiana where he was stationed at Camp Claiborne.
After returning to Louisiana, he met Ruthie Mae Dorty one of the youngest of fifteen children, who he married on August 1, 1941. Within a year of their marriage, their first child Louis Junior was born. Louis Senior was later transferred back to California and stationed at Ford Ord in Monterey Bay California. Ruth followed, but at the insistence of her mother-in-law, left their first born.
A year and a half later, a second child Kay Frances was born in the small Northern California city of Martinez. Sometime after the birth of their second child, Louis located to Los Angeles. There he started pursuing an acting career where Ruth also followed and within a year their third child Michael David was born. Four years later Robert Lee the youngest, was born
During Louis’s acting career, he worked in several movies with some of the biggest stars of his day such as Robert Mitchem, Susan Hayward, Walter Slezak, Tyrone Power, and Joan Crawford. Those movies were ; (1) White Witch Doctor where he played the Councilman 1953, (2) Untamed portrayed as Bani in 1955, (3) Fandango, Ramar of the Jungle where he played Jemma in 1953, and (4) Adventures in Paradise, where he was in one episode that aired 1961. Louis passed on September 7, 1971 in Los Angeles.
